New York State has been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic—and for most of the last two years, the State’s Division of Veterans’ Services (DVS) has been without a director. Fortunately, in November 2021, Reverend Viviana DeCohen, a former Marine and commissioner of the Mount Vernon Veterans Service Agency, was appointed to lead DVS.

NYHealth Program Officer Derek Coy and Reverend DeCohen (Mama V) discussed her career as an advocate for veterans in New York, as well as her plans for moving DVS into the future as the State looks to recover and rebuild from the pandemic.

See the webinar recording here.

Contact Reverend DeCohen at 518-474-6114 or via Mary.Quay@veterans.ny.gov.
