NYHealth Invites You to Attend “Feed Your Mind: A Conversation About School Food”

The successful advocacy campaign to bring universal school lunch to all 1.1 million New York City public school children was a powerful first step in helping kids have access to the food they need to be healthy and learn well. But effective policy change requires strong implementation. Although the universal school lunch victory was momentous, the work has just begun to ensure that there is maximum participation by children in this pro-health measure.

Please join us for a timely and important conversation with three school food champions to learn more about public and private efforts to improve the quality and environment of New York City school food. Speakers will be:

  • Liz Accles, Executive Director, Lunch 4 Learning Campaign
  • Barbara Turk, Director, NYC Food Policy
  • Stephen O’Brien, Director of Strategic Partnerships, New York City Department of Education Office of SchoolFood
