This Families USA report examines what effect the passage of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) will have on families in New York State.
Reports have been developed for all 50 states to look at how middle-class and low-income families will be affected by the ACA. The New York State report finds that, when fully implemented, the ACA will provide tangible relief for families in the following ways:
- Provide direct financial relief to millions of insured New York families that struggle to pay health insurance premiums today.
- Help New York families who are uninsured today by expanding affordable insurance options.
- Slow the growth of underlying health care costs and thus help all New Yorkers.
