This United Hospital Fund report explores the use of third-party data matching as a strategy to simplify the enrollment and retention of eligible people in Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP).
Third-party data refer to information that was provided for a purpose other than applying for health insurance (e.g., taxes, food stamps). The report concludes that the Children’s Health Insurance Program Reauthorization of 2009 and the forthcoming implementation of New York’s Enrollment Center create new opportunities for using data matching strategies in New York.
