The Institute For Patient- And Family-Centered Care (IPFCC) is hosting a webinar on the importance of engaging the expertise of patient and family educators in medical education. With NYHealth funding, IPFCC led a project on developing, testing, and disseminating a comprehensive resource for establishing new patient and family faculty programs in medical education. IPFCC also partnered with Smart from the Start to identify barriers to engaging communities in research during COVID-19.
Panelists will discuss lessons learned and recommendations for creating productive partnerships. They will also provide an overview of the project and activities that guided the development of the practical resource for medical education, as well as share a new online resource for creating and strengthening patient and family faculty programs. NYHealth Vice President of Programs Avital Havusha will be participating in the webinar.
