NYHealth invites you to attend its webinar series, “Practically Speaking,” that will share actionable ideas to better serve New Yorkers during the COVID-19 pandemic. This session will focus on the impact of COVID-19 on people of color and low-income communities in New York State.
The COVID-19 pandemic both highlights and deepens inequality in societies across the world. This webinar will address the political, economic, and historical dimensions of zoonotic disease transmission and pandemic response preparedness. Focusing on New York City as a case study, it will also explore why people of color and the working class are disproportionately affected by the COVID-19 crisis.
Please join us for a discussion with Dr. Justin Feldman, Assistant Professor of Population Health at New York University School of Medicine, to learn more about how entrenched social and economic inequalities translate to increased disparities in COVID-related morbidity and mortality across New York State.
