This July 2009 American Journal of Epidemiology article provides an analysis of studies between 1998 and 2008 that examine the relationship between childhood socioeconomic status and adulthood obesity.
The findings of the article suggest that women with lower socioeconomic statuses as children will be more likely to be obese as adults. No such relationship was found in males. The article incorporated data for a wide variety of geographic regions and races, and used the data to suggest a link between socioeconomic status and obesity.
