The report provides updated enrollment and financial data for calendar year 2012, highlighting changes from previous years. Among the key findings for New York:
- Operating revenues for New York health plans grew from $48 billion in 2010 to $55.7 billion in 2012.
- In 2012, 800,000 million individuals were covered by small group commercial plans.
- Forty-nine percent of private sector employees were covered by self-insured plans in 2012, a 5% increase from 2010.
- Combined operating revenue for PrePaid Health Services Plans rose from $8.24 billion in 2010 to $13.34 billion in 2012.
- The overall net income for New York health plans was $1.7 billion in 2012, roughly a $200 million increase over 2010.
- Medicaid managed care enrollment grew by 17% from 2010 to 2012.
